Install the Chrome extension once, then launch recordings directly from the browser toolbar. The extension works alongside the RTILA X desktop app, so you can begin capturing a workflow without switching to a separate automation window first. The recording starts in the browser where you are already working, and the generated steps appear in the desktop app for further editing.

For users who spend most of their time in Chrome or another Chromium-based browser, the extension removes the friction of moving back and forth between tools. You stay in the context of the website you are automating while the desktop app handles the heavy lifting behind the scenes.

Element Picker

The element picker is one of the most useful tools in the extension. You click the picker, hover over an element on the page, and RTILA X highlights it with a visible outline. A second click converts that element into a stable selector for use in your automation.

The picker understands the visual page, not only the raw HTML underneath. It can identify buttons, form fields, table cells, product cards, and other structured elements that may be difficult to target manually. This lowers the barrier for users who do not know CSS and speeds up workflow creation for experienced users.

Side Panel Interface

The Chrome extension includes an integrated side panel that opens directly inside the browser. From this panel, you can start or stop a recording, view recent recordings, and access quick actions such as creating a new project or opening the RTILA X desktop app.

The side panel keeps the barrier to entry as low as possible. You can click a button and begin capturing a workflow in seconds, without needing to configure a new project first.

Context Menu Actions

Context menus provide a fast path for common automation tasks. Right-clicking on an element gives you options to copy its selector, create a click command, capture its text, or add it to the current dataset.

These small affordances save time when building an automation. Instead of opening the element picker and navigating through settings panels, you can perform many common recording prepactions directly from the page.

Live Preview

Live preview shows how the current automation will interact with the page before you commit to a full run. You can see which elements will be clicked, whether the right selectors are being used, and whether waits are positioned at the right moments.

This preview is especially useful while you are learning the tool. You can test small pieces of a workflow, confirm that they behave as expected, and then continue building with confidence.

Installation

1. Install the RTILA X desktop app.
2. Open the Chrome Web Store and search for the RTILA X Chrome extension.
3. Add the extension to Chrome, then restart the desktop app if needed.

Desktop Power, Browser Convenience

The extension bridges your browser and the RTILA X desktop app while keeping everything local-first. It does not collect browser data or send page content to a remote server. The extension only communicates with the RTILA X application running on your own machine.
